The Language Center is pleased to announce that the ‘Advanced English Language Course’ was successfully completed, laying the foundation for potential future courses of similar nature to benefit engineering students and on October 1, 2023, the certificates were distributed. 

This course marked a significant milestone as the first of its kind tailored specifically for the College of Engineering. It uniquely combined English language instruction with engineering topics.

The ceremony started with a speech presented by Asst. Prof. Mr. Ivan H. Murad, the Director of Language Center, concerning the conduction of the aforementioned course. In his speech, Mr. Murad valued the willingness of the students to participate in such courses and also appreciated the very organized and hard work of Ms. Diman Jacksi in coordinating and planning the conduction of the course.

This was followed by a speech presented by the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Luqman Aziz, in which he highlighted the importance of such courses for the students of the College of Engineering and the benefits they can get out of their active participation in such courses.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Sattar Jabbar Haji, the Director of the Pedagogical Training and Development Center, also presented a speech in which he emphasized and appreciated the eagerness and enthusiasm of the students of the College of Engineering to join such courses.

Following this, Ms. Diman Jacksi, a Lecturer at the College of Engineering, gave a speech in which she underscored the importance of encouraging students to enroll in a variety of different language and development courses. She also stressed the value of the course for the students and the opportunities they could obtain out of their participation in such courses.

Later, both heads of the departments, Dr. Omar and Dr. Sherwan, encouraged their students to join such courses and further improve their language skills.

At the end of the ceremony, flowers were distributed by the participants of the course to Prof. Dr. Luqman Aziz Abdulkareen, Dean of the College of Engineering, Asst. Prof. Mr. Ivan H. Murad, the Director of Language Center, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sattar Jabbar Haji, Director of Pedagogical Training and Development Center, Ms. Diman Jacksi, Lecturer at the College of Engineering, and both Ms. Hala Sadaullah and Mrs. Rezheen Ahmed, lecturers of the language course, Dr. Omar M. Ali, Head of Mechanical Engineering, and Dr. Sherwan M. Simo, Head of Petroleum Engineering, as an appreciation for the successful conduction of the course and the opportunity they were offered to join it.
